Mel Glazer is an adjunct professor of Popular Songwriting and Music Publishing at FIVE TOWNS COLLEGE in Dix Hill, N.Y. His works are represented in all the major media including movies, TV, off-Broadway and the cabaret circuit.
Songs that Mel Glazer co-wrote have been recorded by Etta James, Robert Plant, Elvis Presley among others. Collaborators have included Carole King, Sammy Fain, Aaron Schroeder, Arthur Siegal, Bernie Baum and others. His most recent chart maker, # 16, was THE MAGIC IS THERE, Daniel O’Donnell on Ritz Records UK 1999. His most recent release was May 2002, SPEEDWAY, Static-X, on MCA Records and the theme song for "The Joey Reynolds Show" WOR radio beginning in 2006.
Mel writes the monthly column "Song Talker" featured in AuralFix magazine.
His unique perspective on Frank Sinatra, as a role model, professionally and personally, attained international attention in January 2003 when he was interviewed by Joe Franklin and his producer, Nancy Blasquez, on the Bloomberg radio Business of Show Business weekend report. Joey Reynolds, WOR, interviewed Mel in December 2004. Mel Glazer is a New Jersey State Sponsored speaker on behalf of the N.J. Council of the Humanities on the life of Frank Sinatra.
As an actor, he recently appeared as the Archbishop of Canterbury in the teleplay "Minions of the Race" written and produced by Anne Paolucci.
